Kite surfing: El Gouna Wind Direction: NNE Wind Stength: 22 Surf / Sea State: dead flat Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Max Speed: Distance Covered:
got to the beach around 10am having arrived in egypt the evening before.
Signed up to the kite storage on the beach and quickly set up and was out
on the water by 11. Wind not quite enough but was having loads of fun so
went on a massive downwinder and had to walk back for 15 minutes !!
Had lunch when i got back and felt the wind picking up so went out again.
Definitely enough wind this time and although the water looked very busy
with loads of kites up, there was loads of space if you avoided the
learners. Water is dead flat for 500 yards and 2feet deep so it was
perfect. Went in around 3pm for some sun screen and most of my mates were
calling it a day then as we were all pretty tired from the travelling the
day before.
I decided to have another half an hour, and ended up staying out for over
3 hours !!! Absolutley perfect, 25 knots of wind and very few people on the
water. Watched the sun set over the desert mountains from the water and by
this time there was only me and some other guy on the water. Ended up being
called in off the water from the beach !!! Started the day not being able
to go up wind or turn round without sinking in and finished shooting upwind
and doing 99% of my transitions without getting wet !
Definitely the best days kitesurfing ive ever had, and spent about 7 hours
on the water !
